Fire Rated Anti-Reflective Coated Cinema Projector Glass

The most valuable asset of a cinema is the projected images' quality. Reel-to-reel projectors did not necessitate specialized port windows enhanced with advanced optical technology. Digital projection technology in use today, however, requires both new and old cinemas to install cinema projector portal glass with optimal light transmission and color rendition for both 2D and 3D digitally projected media.

Fire Rated AR Coated Cinema Projector Glass

Fire rated AR Coated Cinema Projection Portal Glass Diamond Coatings supplies to leading cinema companies consists of E60/E130 fire rated Pilkington Pyrostop glass that has been coated with a specifically designed Custom Anti-Reflection Film providing superior light transmission and color rendition for digitally projected media in both 2D and 3D.

Already installed in leading cinemas across Europe and the UK, our cinema projector glass is available in multiple port sizes (maximum size 1000 mm by 1000 mm) and provides a supreme 96 per cent typical average transmission between 450 nm and 650 nm. It should be noted that optimal optical properties are provided by our 600 mm by 600 mm ports, with a possible slight reduction of transmission on the outer edges of larger ports.

Anti-Reflective Coating

Providing first class light transmission and color rendition, Diamond Coatings’ Anti-Reflective Coating also reduces reflection dramatically. It is suitable for interior and exterior applications (we recommend use of substrates that are UV-stable for locations exposed directly to sunlight) and can also be applied to acrylic base or polycarbonate substrates. Providing outstanding scratch resistance, the film provides superior resistance to chemical agents and has a surface hardness close to the hardness of glass.

Pilkington Pyrostop

Cinema Projector Glass is not only required to deliver superior transmission, it also has to be fire and impact resistant. Complying with European and ISO test standards in both integrity and insulation terms, Pilkington Pyrostop glass offers impact protection of up to (depending on thickness) BS EN 12600 Class 1. This, of course, makes Pilkington Pyrostop the ideal base substrate for Diamond Coatings Cinema Projector Glass.
