What are the ATEX Requirements
As of 20 April 2016, new ATEX regulations require that devices and equipment used in safety-critical or explosive atmospheres must be protected against static electricity / electrostatic charges which may cause dangerous discharges. One way to meet these requirements is through the application of high-quality anti-static coatings, such as Diamox Indium Tin Oxide (ITO) based coatings
- This regulation applies to all equipment with an effective source of ignition, intended for use within potentially explosive atmospheres, under normal atmospheric conditions.
- The anti-static coating must prevent dangerous discharge of electrostatic charge.
