The Benefits Of Anti Reflective Films

Anti reflective films are being utilised in many different scenarios and environments and this is largely due to their tensile strength and non reflective properties.

Most anti reflective films are made using PET (polyethylene terephthalate), a high performing, transparent thermoplastic. Anti reflective PET film has good dimensional stability, low moisture absorption and high UV resistance – and of course, high optical transparency. Anti Reflective film is an extremely useful, highly cost-effective solution for large display & digital signage applications.

Other anti reflective film applications

In short, anywhere that you do not want to see a reflection you can use an anti reflective film. Common uses include museums and art galleries. The film can be applied to glass frames and display cases, enhancing the viewers experience visually. In fact, anti reflective film is becoming popular in domestic environments too.

The retail industry may also use anti reflective films on store window displays for maximum effect. In recent times, our anti reflective films were used to help keep people safe. During the pandemic, the clear screens that were put in place (mainly in well lit retail environments) came with reflections from light glare – the anti reflective films were applied to make it slightly easier for people during such a testing time.

Diamond Coatings anti reflective film

Offering excellent anti-static properties, enhanced transparency and outstanding chemical & abrasion resistance, our anti reflective Diamox AR1617 film is a superior, high-performance solution that perfectly meets the demands of applications

Delivered complete with clear adhesive and protective (both surfaces) films, Diamox AR1617 anti reflective film is available from our online store on rolls (sold by linear metre) with a standard width of 1,250 mm or in a choice of two standard sheet sizes: 1,000 x 1,000 mm or 250 x 250 mm.

We can also offer to provide films to meet customer-specific dimensional requirements and/or directly laminate anti reflective coated films onto preferred substrates.

What is an Optical Coating?

An optical coating is a thin film deposited on a surface to alter its optical properties and manipulate the behaviour of light

What is an ITO substrate?

The transparency and conductivity available for the surfaces of glass, plastics, and thin films has significantly expanded the potential applications for ITO substrates.
