Capacitive touch screen manufacturers

Diamond Coatings Inc supply capacitive touch screens to a variety of global industries including automotive, space and aviation, as well as medical and military

Capacitive Touch Screen Manufacturers

A capacitive touchscreen generally uses an ITO (Indium Tin Oxide) coating across the surface of the glass on the screen. ITO is both transparent and electrically conductive, both properties lend themselves well to capacitive touch devices.

Capacitive Touch Screens – How do they work?

The glass screen is coated with a thin layer of ITO which provides the conductivity required. When a finger touches the screen, the electric charge is changed. The screen determines the location and even the gesture of the touch and reacts accordingly.

The other form of touch screen is a resistive touchscreen, which works by registering downward pressure on the screen. Resistive screens cannot record multiple, simultaneous touches like a capacitive screen can, but resistive screens have their own place in a technological world, as they tend to be able to withstand rigorous use – perfect in public facing and more demanding locations, such as medical and military.

Capacitive Touch Screens

Capacitive touch screens offer a higher visible transmission (90%) than resistive touch screens (70%). At Diamond Coatings, our index-matching technology enables us to produce capacitive touch screens with transmission rates equal to those of uncoated plastic or glass.

We can produce capacitive screens that are fully shielded and/or feature various other possibly required finishes such as, for example, diverse anti reflective, special optical and hard coat coatings.

Capacitive Touch Screen Manufacturers

Diamond Coatings Inc supply capacitive touch screens to a variety of global industries including automotive, space and aviation, as well as medical and military. There is an obvious supply chain into the telecoms and entertainment industry too, with the prevalence of touchscreen devices used throughout the world.
