When ITO coatings where first introduced, maintaining substrates’ optical clarity while achieving high conductivity (i.e. low sheet resistances) meant deposition of the indium tin oxide had to be done at temperatures of at least 374° F/190° C.

For obvious reasons, this meant these coatings were almost exclusively applied glass substrates. Today, developments have led to the use of a wide range of substrates.

DIAMOX Indium tin oxide (ITO) coatings are produced by low temperature vacuum deposition. The ITO is a highly conductive transparent coating and is available deposited on to glass or plastic substrates including polycarbonate, acrylic and polyester.

A flexible system for handling the substrate enables both flat and shaped, as well as a range of injected moulded parts, to be coated.

Customers requiring ITO coated glass for any application must first consider the glass substrate most suited to their requirements.
