Diamond Coatings offer several different types of anti-reflective coating for glass suitable for a multitude of applications.
AR Coated Glass Applications
An anti-reflective (AR) coating is an optical coating used in applications involving light passing through surfaces. Primarily designed to reduce reflection, these coatings also improve the:
- Efficiency of typical imaging systems, as light loss due to reflection is reduced
- Contrast of images in complex imaging systems by eliminating stray light
Applications of AR coated glass may, for example, include:
- Camera Lens Elements
- Solar Cells
- Ophthalmic (corrective) lenses
- Microelectronic Photolithography
- Microscopes
- Telescopes
- Binoculars and More
Combining anti reflective coatings with conductive ITO (Indium Tin Oxide) coatings makes coated glass suitable for applications including:
- Aircraft Instruments
- Conducting Glass
- LCD TV’s
- Microscope Slides
- Other Display Technologies
- Touch Sensitive Panels
- Transparent Shielding Glass and More
Improving the light transmission and subsequently the quality of projected images, anti-reflective coatings are also an important addition to cinema projection portal windows.
Diamond Anti Reflective Coating for Glass
Diamond AR is a conductive anti reflective coating for glass, acrylic and polycarbonate substrates. The coating has a typical sheet resistance of 1000+ ohms/sq and spectral properties similar to those of Diamond Coating’s Diamox+ coating. Available options include:
Diamond AR – A multi-purpose coating designed to match customers’ requirements
Diamond AR VAC – Boasting an average reflection of 0.5%, this vacuum deposited coating offers varying wavelengths to meet customer needs
Diamond AR COND – A multi-layer AR coating combined with a conductive ITO coating.
Typical light transmission of glass coated on one or both sides are 94% and 96% respectively. More detailed information on the properties of these coatings can be obtained via the data sheet.
Diamond AR Coated Cinema Projector Glass
Diamond Coatings also produce an industry leading, E60 Fire Rated cinema projector glass suitable for digital 2D and 3D projection. Offering an average typical visible transmission (450 nm – 650 nm) of 96%, this glass is available in sheet sizes up to 1,000mm x 1,000mm. Please note that while a 600mm x 600mm port offers optimal optical properties, larger ports may have lower transmission. Learn more.
