Anti Reflective Coatings on Plastic Substrates

Anti reflective coatings offer enhanced optical performance by reducing reflection and glare. An anti reflective ITO coating can be applied to plastic substrates to provide optimal optical properties.

Anti reflective coatings offer enhanced optical performance by reducing reflection and glare. An anti reflective ITO coating can be applied to plastic substrates to provide optimal optical properties.

DIAMOND AR, the anti reflective coating we supply and manufacture, is available on polycarbonate and acrylic substrates, as well as glass.

In addition, anti reflective options are also suitable for plastic films. AR1617 Film is an anti reflective coated PET film, ideal for digital displays and signage.

The AR coating is conductive with a sheet resistance of typically 1000+ ohms/sq. The following anti reflective coating options are available from Diamond Coatings:

  • DIAMOND-AR
    Multi-purpose to suit customers’ needs
  • DIAMOND-AR WET
Acrylic sheet with dipped AR coating giving approximate reflection of 3%
  • DIAMOND-AR VAC
Vacuum deposited AR at various wavelengths to suit customer requirements with average reflection of 0.5%
  • DIAMOND-AR COND
ITO conductive coating combined with multilayer AR

Anti reflective Polycarbonate Coatings

When coatings are applied to polycarbonates, finishes such as anti glare and anti reflective coatings can be added. The use of anti reflective with a polycarbonate substrate is common is such applications as:

  • Touch Screens/Panels (Resistive and Capacitive)
  • Electronic Automobile Displays
  • Exterior Lighting Fixtures
  • Medical Manufacturers/Control Screens
  • EMI/RFI Shielding Filters
  • Opto-Electronic/Electronic Displays
  • Transparent ITO Heaters

As well as an antireflective coating reducing unwanted reflections and glare, it also protects against fading and yellowing, caused by UV.

AR coated polycarbonate is a good choice for applications like:

  • Retail/Poster Displays
  • Picture Framing
  • Gallery Displays
  • Display Cases

Anti reflective PET Film

Polyester film is composed of polyethylene terephthalate (PET) and is a high performance, transparent thermoplastic. ITO Polyester film has ideal mechanical properties for processing, such as vacuum coating and laminating. The level of conductivity and transparency of ITO films, are favorable for many uses, over other coating options.

PET film has many favorable properties:

  • High tensile strength
  • Great dimensional stability
  • Low moisture absorption
  • Resilience at a wide temperature range, with a high melting point
  • High UV resistance
  • Excellent electrical properties
  • High optical transparency
  • Greater oxygen permeability
  • Good gas barrier
  • Highly conductive

The properties of ITO film have made it a popular choice for use in a large range of applications and products across many sectors.

Anti reflective ITO PET film comes supplied with an optically clear adhesive and can provided in sheet form, in continuous meter format on a roll or directly laminated on your chosen substrate.

Our AR1617 Film is a highly suitable and cost effective solution for large display or digital signage applications.

Why Use ITO Float Glass?

Obviously, with Float Glass being the most commonly used of all glass types, there will always be a requirement for ITO Float Glass.

The Uses Of Conductive Glass

Conductive glass really is a thing… glass that has the ability to conduct electricity! This sounds pretty cool on the face of it, but what are the uses of conductive glass? Read on!

Indium Tin Oxide Coated Glass

Indium Tin Oxide (ITO) is a fantastic substance that has two characteristics that make it ideal for a number of applications: Firstly, it is optically clear, and secondly it is electrically conductive.

Why use Interactive Touch Film?

You may not know what an interactive touch film is, we are going to break this down so you have a better idea of exactly why you would look to use interactive touch films.
