They are designed to be both durable and reliable even under the harshest conditions, such as unforgiving environments (think military use) or continuous heavy usage (such as retail). 

Capacitive touch screens have a higher visible transmission (90%) than resistive touch screens (70%). At Diamond Coatings, our touch screens have a thin layer of ITO (Indium Tin Oxide) applied. The ITO is highly transparent and offers fantastic conductivity.

For a capacitive ITO touch screen to work, the user touches the screen which changes the conductive layer’s electric state at the specific contact point. Tracking the changes caused by the finger (or, as may be the case in multi-touch systems, fingers) moving across the screen, the device utilising the screen is then able to complete the required task/s.

Our use of index-matching technology enables us to produce capacitive touch screens with transmission rates equal to those of uncoated plastic or glass.

We can also produce capacitive screens that are fully shielded and/or feature various other possibly required finishes such as antireflective coatings and hard coat coatings.
